About Novi Virtual

Novi Virtual

Novi Virtual provides a robust and engaging educational platform for our K-12 students who may need an option that is more flexible than a conventional in person classroom structure. Our learning structure is ideal for students with extenuating health needs, elite athletes and performers who have rigorous training schedules, families who may need to travel internationally for an extended timeframe, and many others. Novi Virtual is staffed by Novi teachers, some of whom are recognized at the state and even national level. They teach the curriculum of the Novi Community School District.

At the forefront of our commitment to education is an emphasis on building strong, positive relationships between school, home, and our community.  Our staff is dedicated to collaboration and creating flexible learning environments that are emotionally secure, inclusive, and fun. In addition, our teachers understand the importance of connecting students with their peers, off screen.  They do this through planning optional in person events, like game nights, movie nights, a day at the zoo and even field trips and activities that our in person students enjoy, like a visit to the Henry Ford Museum or the State Capitol, and Field Day. Novi Virtual partners with various organizations, including Novi Community Education, Novi Educational Foundation, and the Novi Public Library.

Novi Virtual students are able to participate in all of the clubs, activities, and sports of their home building.  Students in our partner districts are able to do the same, in their own district.

Our K-6 curriculum includes Specials classes like art, media, music, and physical education. At the secondary level, our students can elect a blended schedule, where they attend school in person for a portion of the day, and also take virtual classes.  Students also have the option to take a fully virtual schedule with some elective asynchronous course options, including AP Psychology, Marketing, Computer Applications, and Power Yoga, among others.

Novi Virtual includes ancillary staff (student support coach and a school social worker).  Additionally, students can receive support from literacy and math interventionists and English Language Learner teachers.

NCSD is a 1:1 technology device district. Novi Virtual leverages state of the art technology  to develop digital competencies and inspire creativity as we seek to interact and connect with the world.
